Proposed Deed Restriction Amendments
Last Updated on June 25, 2010
![]() |
The Briarmeadow Board of Directors has been working over the past year to revise Briarmeadow’s Deed Restrictions, which were last amended in 1987. The revisions were made in response to numerous changes in the law, ongoing deed restriction violations, and Architectural Control Committee | ![]() |
issues that have been the source of many complaints over the past few years (especially the 280 pound per square roofing material requirement, which finally has been revised). There was a Town Hall Meeting on June 24, at 7:00 p.m., at the Briarmeadow Clubhouse to present and answer questions about the proposed Deed Restriction Amendments.
The Briarmeadow Board of Directors will be working from now until October 12 to gather the signatures of a majority of the homeowners in order to be able to implement the new Deed Restrictions. We will need help gathering the required signatures. If you are interested in helping, please email HOA Vice President Brit Perkins at

"No Soliciting" Signs For Sale
Last Updated on May 22, 2010
The Briarmeadow Patrol has recently seen an increase in the number of complaints regarding solicitors in the neighborhood. Because the officers cannot issue a citation or make an arrest unless a solicitor has been warned not to enter the property, the presence of a "No Soliciting" sign will both deter solicitors from knocking on residents’ doors and assist in the enforcement of criminal trespass laws. Our officers can make a much stronger case for the issuance of a citation or an arrest if a home has a "No Soliciting" sign. The Board of Directors is happy to announce that "No Soliciting" signs with the Briarmeadow Logo are available for purchase for $20. The signs are 12" wide and 4" tall and are made of heavy duty aluminum. These tasteful signs can be attached to the front of your home and will serve as notice to solicitors not to enter your property. If you are interested in purchasing a "No Soliciting" sign, please respond to this e-mail to Director Philip McDaniel to arrange for payment and delivery. Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Petition Being Circulated
Last Updated on May 22, 2010
Years ago, the BMHOA Board attempted to apply for the City of Houston Neighborhood Street Reconstruction Program. Despite their best efforts, not enough residents were willing to sign up for the program, which then included a provision that the City could assess a lien against each property owner for the cost of the repairs (even though the City had not assessed such a lien since 1992, it continued to insist upon the reservation of such right). In essence, people were asked to “trust” that the City would not assess a lien, and not enough residents were willing to do that.
The good news is that the ...

If you have any backpacks, duffle bags or similar type bags please consider donating them to my Boy Scout Eagle Scout Drive to support the homeless men, women and children of Casa Juan Diego. I am also collecting school supplies, sweaters, sweatshirts, rain ponchos, socks, new underwear, hand sanitizer, shampoo, soap, razors, duct tape, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, etc. I (along with other Scouts from Troop 55) will clean and repair your backpack or bags and then fill them with donated supplies. These will be passed out at the Casa Juan Diego shelters in the fall.
Please bring your donations to the collection bin at the Briarmeadow Clubhouse pool between May 29th and June 6th or contact me to arrange to pick the item(s) up from you.
Thank you for your support,
Patrick Humphrey (Skyline Drive Resident) -

Keep Houston Beautiful Day This Saturday 9:00 a.m. Briarmeadow Park
Last Updated on May 7, 2010
The Briarmeadow Homeowners' Association in conjunction with the Briarmeadow Park Committee will be holding a volunteer event on Saturday, April 10, 2010, meeting under the covered picnic pavilion in Briarmeadow Park beginning at 9:00 A.M. April 10 is "Keep Houston Beautiful Day" and there will be volunteers working throughout the City to beautify and "green" Houston. Our plan in the park is to clean and sanitize all playground equipment, pick up all litter and broken glass, remove any graffiti, note any problems that should be addressed by the City, clear the drain grates of accumulated mud and debris, and address any other concerns we see in the park. If there is enough participation, we will also be walking the entire neighborhood to pick up all trash and report any graffiti. Before we begin the cleanup, we will receive an update on the money the City is going to put towards improvements in the park and listen to your suggestions.
