Property Tax Protest Deadline June 1
Last Updated on June 10, 2010
June 1: Tax Protest Deadline: May 31 is usually the last day to file a protest to your HCAD Property Tax Appraisal (since this year that falls on a Holiday, the true deadline is Tuesday, June 1). You can mail the green "Property Tax Notice of Protest" or, for the third year, you can protest your taxes online through the iSettle program. To file your online protest, go to the iFile Online System: http://www.hcad.org/ifile/ (you need the iFile Number found in the upper right corner of your white HCAD "Notice of Appraised Value for Property Tax Purposes").
At http://www.hcad.org/isettle/, you can...
- Learn more about iSettle
- Watch a video about iFile and iSettle
- File a protest and sign up for iSettle
- View on-line protest FAQs; and
- View a quick overview of the Property Tax System.
For more information, call the HCAD Information Center at (713) 957-7800 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
