We are getting ready for the 2009 Summer Swim Team season and want you to come out and join us. The Briarmeadow/WildeWest Swim Team has enjoyed numerous years of success and fun due to a group of great swimmers and coaches. The month of June is always marked with sounds of cheering, lots of laughter, and huge grins. We encourage all kids to join in the fun of our neighborhood swim team.

Registration gets kicked off this year during our annual Sign Up Night.

We are getting ready for the 2009 Summer Swim Team season and want you to come out and join us. The Briarmeadow/WildeWest Swim Team has enjoyed numerous years of success and fun due to a group of great swimmers and coaches. The month of June is always marked with sounds of cheering, lots of laughter, and huge grins. We encourage all kids to join in the fun of our neighborhood swim team.

Registration gets kicked off this year during our annual Sign Up Night. This evening is open to all residents interested in joining swim team or just wanting to learn more about the team. When you register, you can pick up valuable information about this year's season. Please note ---- There will be a parent/swimmer meeting at 6:30 and I encourage all returning and new participants to attend. During this time we will go over some new information this year for all parents and swimmers and try to answer all general questions. Your family can join us for an evening of snacks, friends, and fun. Sorry, kids, the pool will not be open for swimming during registration.

Swim Team is open to swimmers in Kindergarten through Grade 12. The only qualification to participate is the swimmer must be able to swim from one end of the pool to the other, unassisted, by the end of the May practices. The summer league we compete in is comprised primarily of neighborhood swim teams with similar number of members. In the 2009 season, our league will be comprised of Afton Village, Sandlewood, Southside Place, the JCC, and the Dad's Club. This year we have an opportunity to swim against West Side Tennis Club Swim Team in an exhibition meet. Our swim team is broken down by age group: 6&under, 7&8, 9&10, 11&12, 13&14, 15&up.

The 2009 registration fee will be $75 per child. The fee covers the cost of equipment, coaches' salaries, ribbons, and trophies. To keep costs low, we raise additional funds through neighborhood sponsors and concession sales.

Swim Team practice will begin the week of May 11th. May practice is held Monday through Thursday at 4:00 p.m. for age 10 & under, and at 5:00 p.m. for age 11 & over, until school ends. Beginning in June, morning practice will be held at the BM Pool beginning at 8:00 a.m. for age 10 & under, and at 9:00 a.m. for age 11 & over. Afternoon practice is held at the Tanglewilde Pool on Tuesday and Wednesday only at 4:00 pm for age 10 & under and 5:00 pm for age 11 & up. Meets are held Monday & Thursday evenings throughout the month of June. The practice and meet schedule will be available at the kick-off party.
